The Formula
LED Watts = (Bulb Watts × Source Efficacy × Brightness Multiplier) / LED Efficacy. Typical efficacies: Halogen 20 lm/W, Incandescent 14 lm/W, LED 90 lm/W. Brightness multiplier: equivalent 1.0, brighter 1.25, dimmer 0.75.
Fun Fact: LED bulbs use about 80% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last up to 25 times longer, saving the average household about £100 per year on electricity.
