Applications

Check tire pressure in your preferred unit, calibrate SCUBA tank readings between psi and bar, convert vacuum measurements between Torr and mmHg, and translate aviation altimeter settings between inHg and hectopascals. Useful for engineers, divers, pilots, meteorologists, and HVAC technicians.

Pressure Conversion

All conversions route through the Pascal (Pa), the SI unit of pressure. 1 atm = 101,325 Pa. 1 bar = 100,000 Pa. 1 psi ≈ 6,894.757 Pa. 1 Torr = 1 mmHg ≈ 133.322 Pa. 1 inHg ≈ 3,386.39 Pa. The reference temperature for these conversions is 0 °C (273.15 K).

Fun Fact: Torr and millimeters of mercury (mmHg) are technically the same unit by definition — both represent the pressure exerted by a 1 mm column of mercury under standard gravity. The names persist because Torr is used in vacuum science while mmHg remains standard in medical blood pressure measurement.
