Applications

Convert oven temperatures for international recipes, translate weather forecasts between Celsius and Fahrenheit, perform scientific calculations with Kelvin and Rankine, and explore historical scales like Delisle, Newton, Réaumur, and Rømer. Useful for cooks, scientists, students, and travelers.

Temperature Conversion

All conversions route through Celsius (°C). Kelvin = °C + 273.15. Fahrenheit = °C × 9/5 + 32. Rankine = (°C + 273.15) × 9/5. Delisle = (100 − °C) × 3/2. Newton = °C × 33/100. Réaumur = °C × 4/5. Rømer = °C × 21/40 + 7.5.

Fun Fact: Daniel Fahrenheit based his scale on three fixed points: 0°F (a brine solution of ice, water, and ammonium chloride), 32°F (freezing water), and 96°F (body temperature — later recalibrated to 98.6°F). The scale was so influential that Celsius originally had 0° as the boiling point and 100° as the freezing point!
