Cubic yards = length × width × depth, all in feet, divided by 27. A 10 × 10 ft area 3 in deep is 25 ft³, which is 0.93 cubic yards. - How do I calculate cubic yards?
- Multiply length × width × depth in feet and divide by 27. If the depth is in inches, divide it by 12 first. A 20 × 30 ft driveway 4 in deep is 200.00 ft³, or 7.41 cubic yards. Type the supplier’s price in Price per cubic yard for an estimated total on the volume to order, waste included: 10 × 10 ft, 3 in deep with 10% waste is 1.0185 cubic yards (shown as 1.02), $55.00 at $54 a yard, before delivery fees.
- How many cubic feet are in a cubic yard?
- 27. A yard is 3 feet, so a cubic yard is 3 × 3 × 3 feet. In metric units one cubic yard is 0.76 cubic meters.
- How much area does a cubic yard cover?
- At 3 in deep, 108 square feet. At 2 in it covers 162 square feet, at 4 in 81 and at 6 in 54.
- How many cubic yards of soil do I need for a raised bed?
- A 4 × 8 ft bed 12 in deep holds 32.00 ft³, which is 1.19 cubic yards. Enter your own length, width and depth, and choose inches or feet for the depth.
- How do I find cubic yards for a round area?
- Choose Circle and enter the diameter and the depth. A circle 12 ft across and 6 in deep is 56.55 ft³, or 2.09 cubic yards. The formula is π × radius² × depth ÷ 27 with everything in feet. A heaped pile of gravel or sand is closer to a cone: choose Cone, and 10 ft across and 6 ft high is 157.08 ft³, or 5.82 cubic yards, one third of a 10 ft cylinder that tall (17.45 cubic yards).
- Can I enter meters or centimeters?
- Yes. Each field has its own unit. An area of 5 m × 4 m filled 10 cm deep is 2.00 cubic meters, which is 2.62 cubic yards.
