Methodology
We assume a 5-day work week when converting unpaid days into a salary impact. Unpaid days off are converted to weeks by dividing by 5, then subtracted from the total work weeks per year. The effective hourly rate uses the standard annual hours (hours per week × weeks per year) as the denominator so that any PTO reduction is visible in the take-home annual figure but does not distort the per-hour rate.
