Resume Builder

Fill in your details and print a one-column resume on A4 or US Letter paper, or save it as a PDF from the print dialog. Entries stay in this browser. How it works

Use the Resume Builder

Import From Text

Use the headings Summary, Experience, Education and Skills, and a blank line between jobs. The text stays in this page and is not saved. Filling in replaces the jobs, schools and skills you already have. For a PDF, get its text with the PDF to Text Converter and paste it here.

What you type is saved in this browser only and is not uploaded. Anyone who can use this browser profile can read it, so clear it on a shared computer. The example resume (Jane Doe) is sample text: replace it or start blank before printing.

About the Resume Builder

The resume builder prints one layout: your name and contact line, then Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education and Skills in the order you choose, on A4 (the default) or US Letter paper. You fill in the form, the preview follows as you type, and Print / Save PDF turns it into a printout or a PDF file. Import From Text fills the form from a pasted resume, and Copy as Plain Text copies the finished one for an application form. There is no sign-up and no template to choose.

Paper sizes

PaperCSS page sizePreview shape (width / height)
A4 (210 x 297 mm)A4210 / 297
US Letter (8.5 x 11 in)letter8.5 / 11

A4 is the default. The paper chosen sets the page size of the printout, so the print dialog does not offer another one.

Frequently asked questions

How do I save my resume as a PDF?
Press Print / Save PDF and choose Save as PDF as the destination in your browser's print dialog. Only the resume page prints: the site header, the editor and the buttons are left out. Choose A4 or US Letter in Paper size first; the printout uses that size.
Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
No. The page saves what you type in this browser's storage under six keys (details, jobs, schools, skills, section order and paper size), and it is not uploaded. Anyone who uses the same browser profile can read it, so on a shared computer press Clear Saved Values, then Confirm Clear?, when you are done. Start With a Blank Resume empties the text but keeps the paper size and section order.
Can I change the order of the resume sections?
Yes. Section Order lists Professional Summary, Work Experience, Education and Skills with up and down buttons, and the preview and the printout follow that order. A section with nothing in it is left out of the page.
How do I start a resume from scratch?
Press Start With a Blank Resume to empty every field and remove the sample job and school (the example resume is Jane Doe). Empty fields show grey labels such as Role or Your Name on screen and print nothing, so a half-filled page prints without them.
Can I import my old resume?
Paste its text into Import From Text and press Fill In the Form. It looks for the headings Summary, Experience, Education and Skills and a blank line between jobs, and reads a date line such as Jan 2021 - Present into the job dates; lines it cannot place go into the job description. It replaces the jobs, schools and skills already in the form, so check each field before you print. It reads pasted text, not files: get the text of a PDF with the PDF to Text Converter first.
How are job dates written on the resume?
Start and end months print as Jan 2021 – Mar 2023, or Jan 2021 – Present when I currently work here is ticked. A graduation date prints as one month and year, such as May 2020.
