Use the Saturn Return Calculator

First Saturn return
June 2024
2nd return November 2053 · 3rd return May 2083

1st Return (age 29.45)

Often described in astrology as a time of adulthood and maturity.

2nd Return (age 58.89)

Often described in astrology as a time of review and a second wind.

3rd Return (age 88.34)

Often described in astrology as a time of legacy and reflection.

How it is worked out: your birth date plus 1, 2 and 3 times Saturn's sidereal orbital period of 10,755.699 days (29.45 years of 365.25 days), the figure in NASA's Saturn Fact Sheet (nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov, page updated 18 March 2025). Dates are calendar dates in UTC, so the month does not depend on where you are.

The Saturn return is an idea from astrology: Saturn coming back to the place in the sky it held at your birth. The life-stage notes above are astrological tradition, not established fact. Seen from Earth, Saturn moves backward for part of each year, and this tool does not know where Saturn appeared at your birth, so the real crossing can fall months away from the ones shown, sometimes as two or three passes; an ephemeris gives the true dates.

These dates use the sidereal period, Saturn's orbit measured against the stars. Astrologers measure Saturn along the tropical zodiac, whose tropical period is 10,746.940 days in the same NASA fact sheet. A return counted that way comes about 8.8 days earlier for the first return and 26.3 days earlier by the third, which can move it into the previous month.

About the Saturn Return Calculator

The first Saturn return comes about 29.45 years after birth, the second at 58.89 and the third at 88.34. This Saturn return calculator adds Saturn's orbit of 10,755.699 days, from NASA's Saturn Fact Sheet, to your birth date and shows each return as a month and year: someone born on January 1, 1995 gets June 2024, November 2053 and May 2083. It is a month-level estimate from the date alone, with no birth time or place. The return is an idea from astrology, not a finding about anyone's life.

Birth date plus 1, 2 and 3 sidereal periods, as UTC calendar months. The date an astrologer gives can be several months either side, because Saturn as seen from Earth spends about 138 days of every 378 moving backward.

Frequently asked questions

At what age is your Saturn return?
At about 29.45, 58.89 and 88.34 years, one, two and three of Saturn's 10,755.699-day orbits after birth. The month for one person depends on where Saturn appeared from Earth at their birth, which this calculator does not look up.
Do I need my birth time and place?
Not for this calculator: it uses the date only, and counts calendar days in UTC. A birth time can move the result by less than one day, so it changes the month shown only when the date lands at the very end or start of a month.
Why does my Saturn return date differ from an astrology site?
This tool adds whole orbits to your birth date. An astrology site uses an ephemeris, Saturn's position as seen from Earth. Because Earth is moving too, Saturn seems to stop and go backward for about 138 days of every 378, so the real return can be several months from the month shown here and can come as two or three passes over about a year. Astrologers also measure along the tropical zodiac, which puts a return about 8.8 days earlier for the first and 26.3 days earlier for the third.
What is a Saturn return?
In astrology it is the time Saturn comes back to the place in the sky it held when you were born, said to mark stages of life. The short notes on the result cards are astrological tradition, not established fact; the dates are the arithmetic of Saturn's orbit.
