About the Time Zone Converter
12:00 on 15 January 2026 in New York is 17:00 in London, 02:00 on 16 January in Tokyo and Unix time 1768496400. The converter turns the time you type into one exact moment using the daylight saving rules of the source zone for that date, then writes the moment in the target zone. New York and London are 5 hours apart in January and 4 hours apart after the US clocks change on 8 March until the UK clocks change on 29 March 2026.
New York to London time difference in 2026
| Date, read at 12:00 UTC | New York | London | London is ahead by |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 January | UTC-5 | UTC | 5 hours |
| 8 March | UTC-4 | UTC | 4 hours |
| 28 March | UTC-4 | UTC | 4 hours |
| 29 March | UTC-4 | UTC+1 | 5 hours |
| 15 July | UTC-4 | UTC+1 | 5 hours |
| 24 October | UTC-4 | UTC+1 | 5 hours |
| 25 October | UTC-4 | UTC | 4 hours |
| 31 October | UTC-4 | UTC | 4 hours |
| 1 November | UTC-5 | UTC | 5 hours |
Offsets come from the converter's own offset function for the America/New_York and Europe/London zones. The US changes its clocks on 8 March and 1 November 2026 and the UK on 29 March and 25 October, so the gap is 4 hours between those dates.

Computed with the converter's own functions. Zones are the IANA identifiers, with underscores as code and links need them; the dropdown shows them with spaces (America/New York). Kolkata, Kathmandu and Tokyo keep the same offset all year; Sydney is UTC+11 in January and UTC+10 in July.
How to use this tool
- Enter the date and time as it reads on a clock in the source zone.
- Pick the source zone and the target zone, or type a city or a country into the search box under each. The swap button exchanges them, and the presets set New York and London, Los Angeles and Tokyo, or your own zone to UTC.
- Read the result and the gap under it, such as +5 h from New York, with next day or previous day when the date changes. Add Zone shows up to four more zones for the same moment, and Share link copies a link with the zones, date and time.
- Press Long, ISO 8601, Short or Unix to copy the result in that form. Noon in New York on 15 January 2026 converted to London copies as “Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 05:00 PM GMT” (Long), “2026-01-15T17:00:00Z” (ISO 8601), “Jan 15, 05:00 PM GMT” (Short) or 1768496400 (Unix). The exact Long and Short wording comes from your browser.
Frequently asked questions
- What time is 12 PM in New York in London?
- It is 17:00 in London on 15 January 2026 and 17:00 on 15 July 2026, a 5 hour difference both times. Between the US clock change on 8 March and the UK change on 29 March 2026, and again between the UK change on 25 October and the US change on 1 November, the difference is 4 hours, so noon in New York is 16:00 in London.
- What happens if the time I enter does not exist because the clocks skip forward?
- You get a note saying the time does not exist, and the result uses the offset in force before the jump, so it lands one hour later on the new clock: 02:30 typed for New York on 8 March 2026 is treated as 03:30.
- What happens at 1:30 a.m. when the clocks go back?
- It happens twice, an hour apart. The result is the first one, still on daylight time, and a note under it gives the second, so for 01:30 in New York on 1 November 2026 pick whichever your event means.
- How do I convert a time to an ISO 8601 string or a Unix timestamp?
- Convert the time, then press ISO 8601 or Unix to copy that form. Noon in New York on 15 January 2026 converted to London copies as 2026-01-15T17:00:00Z, where Z means an offset of zero, and as 1768496400 in Unix seconds. Converted to Tokyo it copies as 2026-01-16T02:00:00+09:00.
- How do I compare more than two time zones?
- Press Add Zone to list up to 4 more zones under the result. Each one shows the same moment as a full date and time in its own zone, with its gap from the source zone: noon in New York on 15 January 2026 is +5 h in London, +10 h 30 min in Kolkata and +14 h, next day, in Tokyo. A team spread over 6 zones fits on one screen, and Share link keeps the extra zones in the link.
