Common Uses

Calculate payroll periods, project deadlines, SLA windows, contract durations, freelance delivery dates, and any business-day-counted timeline. Project managers use this to convert calendar deadlines into working-day budgets; HR uses it to count probation periods; freelancers use it to quote accurate delivery dates.

How Working Days Are Counted

Working days are Monday through Friday by default, minus any dates that fall on a recognized public holiday for the selected region. The default weekend is Saturday and Sunday; this can be changed in the options above. Custom holidays are matched against the date in your local timezone.

Fun Fact: The concept of a 'working day' dates back to the Industrial Revolution, when factory workers were typically given Sundays off. The five-day workweek as we know it today was popularized by Henry Ford in 1926, who found that shorter hours actually increased productivity.
